Responsibilities

Members of the Church Board of Directors are responsible for overseeing the business and legal affairs of the church and for ensuring wise stewardship, accountability, and compliance. Desirable qualifications include experience in areas such as finance, budgeting, legal matters, compensation, and organizational decision-making.

Qualifications

Elected members should be able to evaluate options, develop solutions, and lead or participate in committees that address board-related matters. Because the Board carries fiduciary responsibility for the church, elected members will be subject to a background check to ensure the safety and integrity of The Knoxville Church. While all leaders should reflect Christian character, this role especially requires practical wisdom and competence to steward, protect, and support the church well.
