Our Theme -

Glory in the Church

The church was created to bring glory to Jesus. The past 30 years have produced challenges and victories alike. Through it all, we have sought to bring honor to our Lord and Savior. Our aim is to continually strive to offer the hope of Jesus to an increasingly desperate world. We are a messy reflection of him, but until we are made perfect, our heartfelt prayer is that God will use us to proclaim Jesus. This is the glory in the Church.

Our Guest Speaker
CJ Wakefield

CJ and Sheree Wakefield led the Knoxville Church for 4 years. Upon returning to the UK, they worked as educators while serving ailing family members. They have recently returned Stateside and to the full time ministry. They are now serving the Westside Church with a particular focus on family ministry. We are grateful to have the entire family visit us at Rocky Top once again!

Appointing of Elders

After much Bible study, prayer, fasting, advice and reflection, the Knoxville Church is excited to announce that we will appoint Dan Downs and Bill Graham as elders at the 30th Anniversary service. We believe this to be a biblical and vital step in the continual growth and maturity of God's family. The eldership will serve as overseers and shepherds of the flock and in a collaborative directive role with other leadership groups within the church.

Dan & Kristin

Dan and Kristin were converted as campus students in the mid 1980’s and have been members of the Chicago, Indianapolis, and Denver churches.  They were on the mission team to plant a church Ventura California and also served in the full time ministry in Chicago for nearly 10 years.  Their son Collin is recently married (Gaby) and lives in Kansas City. Their daughter, Lauren, lives in Denver.  Dan was initially educated at York Christian College before finishing his Masters in Leadership and has served in Human Resources and People Operations for the last 20 years.

They have been members of the church in Annapolis, Sembach Germany, Albuquerque, and have been a part of the Knoxville Church for the last 18 years.  They have four adult children who are all followers of Jesus. Their oldest, Charlie, and her husband Jonathon live in Charlotte and have a 16-month-old son, Joshua. Hannah and her husband Brad, live in West Bend, WI. and have a two-year-old daughter, Waverly. They are expecting their second child in November. Jake, and his wife Abigail recently married and live in Johannesburg, South Africa. Their youngest, Chloe, lives in Knoxville.
